ABR offer a plating/welding service, applying a uniform chrome deposit from a few microns up to around 0.4mm thick. A hardness up to 60 HRC can be achieved.

A significant advantage of ABR’s plating/welding service is the way we combine plating with welding in order to overcome the corner or edge “chipping” problem commonly associated with some plating processes.

Another major advantage of the ABR plating/welding service is our ability to overcome access problems commonly associated with hard chrome plating. Areas such as 90 degree corners, slots and small holes are difficult to plate. ABR can overcome all these problems whilst still offering the customer a hardness up to 60 HRC.

Plating is ideally suited to diameters (internal and external) and larger areas which can prove time consuming and costly to weld. There is no risk of distortion as the process does not generate heat input to the work piece.
